pg 270-282 A Gray Sleeve, Barbara Frietchie
248-264 The Adventure of the Speckled Band (1 extra credit assignment score added if you do this story.)
230-247 The Sire de Maletroit's Door, Lady Clare (1 extra credit assignment score added if you do this story.)
extra credit points for each additional assignment you complete.
start working on FINAL PROJECT - Short story contest! Winner will receive a gift certificate to ?????
Write a short story. Design a cover and include 1 illustration (hand drawn or picture)
Must be at least 2 pages typed - double spaced 12 point type. Use sentence openers and dress-ups. Use one of your lists to help make sure you are writing at your grade level.

Pre-writing: Brainstorm ideas and choose one to write about. Map out the plot or story sequence using key words or web.
Draft submitted by April 17. It will be returned to you with suggestions for corrections. (Must also be emailed so grade level can be checked) MUST BE TYPED
Final project due May 1.
Check to make sure you have completed the following assignments that were given in class:

EXTRA CREDIT read Fable and maggie and millie and moly and may and answer questions on pg 138.
Rewrite a Fable - either one in the book or another on. (Go to Aesop's Fables link)
Change the characters and make it have the same meaning, but different setting.
Use dress-ups and sentence openers. Should be at least three paragraphs following the story sequence model. First paragraph is the setting, second is the plot/problem, and the third is the climax and moral.
